Digital accessibility has come a long way—but how did we get here, where do things stand today, and what comes next? In this session, Terrill Thompson, Director of Accessibility Consulting & Engagement at the University of Washington (UW), traces the evolution of digital accessibility through three questions: How did we get here? (the past); Where are we now? (the present); and Where do we go from here? (the future). Along the way, he explores the technologies, standards, laws, and changing expectations that have shaped the field—and considers the emerging trends and opportunities that could define its next chapter.
